Welcome to our Home
I'm married to Alice, and we have two sons, Yuan (born in 1990) and Robert (born in 2005). We've been living in our own 3-car garage (with an attached house) in Sparks, Nevada since early 2003. After living without a garage to call my own for, uhmmm, my entire life, finally having one is awesome. I love spending time in the garage. I finally have a place to work on my cars, build model airplanes, and other things that are too messy to do in the house. It's in a quiet neighborhood on a cul-de-sac instead of a busy through street. The house attached to the back of the garage isn't too bad, either. It has a den, so we don't have to keep our computer in our bedroom, and Alice really likes the kitchen. We have a cherry tree and a small garden in the back yard, and next summer (2006) I want to put a grape arbor in the front.
Yuan is running track again this year and seems to enjoy it. He's doing really well in school and is very active in our church. We are very proud of him. He also keeps getting better and better at chess. If he has one fault, it's that he works too hard and doesn't spend enough time doing things he enjoys. He really enjoys having his Chinese grandparents here with us.
Robert is growing up fast - too fast. I like to tease Alice that we should quit feeding him so he'll grow up more slowly. It's so fun to watch him learn new things. When we take him to church, he sings when the music starts. He always wants to help us do things like put away the groceries. When his Bishop grandparents visit us, he always helps them get their shoes when it's time to leave and always carry's Grandma's purse to her. I can't believe how much fun having a little one is.
Alice is back at work at Sands as a table games dealer, part time for now but she's going to go full time in a couple of weeks. She also has a part time job at Costco. Her parents are living with us and it's really been a huge help (but sometimes kind of frustrating).
I'm working at Truckee Meadows Community College as a PBX technician. I really love my job. Everyone is cool, and there's not much workplace political BS to put up with, unlike some of the jobs I've had in the past. I also have my Real Estate license and I'm with Prudential Nevada Realty, so if you want to buy or sell a house in Reno or Sparks, GIVE ME A CALL!!! 775-745-6208!!!
Yuan is a sophomore this year, and is growing into a fine young man. He enjoys going to football and basketball games with me, and is looking forward to running track again in the spring. He's a good kid and doesn't get into trouble. He's good and math and a whiz at chess, and we're really proud of him.
My parents have a house in Reno, so I get to see them a lot. They also have their house in Bishop, so I get to go back fairly often, but not as much as I'd like. I think that no matter where I live, I'll always consider Bishop to be my home.
I'd like to hear from any friends, so please send me an email. Better yet, if you're ever in Reno or Sparks, give me a call and we can get together. It would be fun to reminisce, and I'd love for you to meet my family.
