Awesome, especially Bishop Creek Canyon, Glass Mountain, Coyote Flats, Buttermilk, the wilderness area around Mammoth Lakes, the June Lake area, ... OK, it's all awesome, so I'll just touch on some of my favorite spots. Bishop Creek Canyon is cool. Starting at the bottom there is Intake 2, a small lake that has several campsites and a boat ramp. It is regularly stocked with rainbow trout by DFG during fishing season. It can get a little crowded during tourist season, especially on the weekends, but it is a nice place to go and relax. Going up the canyon, you'll pass the road leading to Buttermilk and the community of Aspendale. Aspendale is aptly named; the colors of the aspen trees during the fall are awesome. As you make your way up the canyon, you'll pass several good fishing spots along Bishop Creek, and near the top you'll reach the road leading to North Lake. The road to the lake is narrow and twisty, but worth the drive. North lake is quite a bit smaller than it was in 19?? when the dam washed out, but it and the stream feeding it offer excellent fishing for brook trout. There are several several trails leading into the wilderness above the lake, and because the lake itself is somewhat off the beaten path, North Lake tends to be more relaxing and secluded than some of the other places along Bishop Creek Canyon even if you don't take advantage of the trails.
